Dedicated Home Theater

This project was done from the ground up. Sound Investments was involved in the original design of the house. The stadium seating in the theater was actually poured into the foundation. Stepping into the theater from the ground level of the house, you immediately get a feeling of spaciousness when the screen wall opens up to about 15' tall. The theater has a custom built 7.1 speaker system engineered specifically for the room size. Studio quality acoustical room treatments are hidden in the walls and the back of the room incorporates a small bar for refreshments. A fully automated remote allows for the usual one button push but also incorporates another convenient feature. When the doorbell rings, a small red light flashes at the screen. At that point, the customer selects the "Front Door" button on the remote, and the movie pauses,the screen shows who is at the front door,and the owner speaks to their visitor through the intercom system.

The rest of the house contains a 12 zones of music that allows for a personal music source (Ipod) at every zone or centrally located sources. Complete intercom system including both garages. Security cameras,smaller size home theater system in Family Room. An automated lighting system with on/off schedule and remote controllable.

“We planned to build a new home and, within our design, was an area for a home theater. We turned to Sound Investments as our main contractor for all of the detailed planning, design and implementation related to this work. Randy Revak worked closely with us on all phases of this effort. This included the basic size and shape of the home theater area, the physical construction of the room and the choice of materials needed for the optimal use of this room. The planning for the electronics to be used was extensive, with reviews of various types of equipment as well as the design of a room to make this equipment accessible when necessary.

The system has a 7.1 speaker configuration and all speakers were custom-built by Sound Investments. The home theater electronics were designed to be integrated into the broader electronics for the house itself, including the phone system, intercom, closed circuit TV and satellite TV.

Overall, Sound Investments was able to combine the aesthetics expected in a designated home theater with the optimal choice and installation of all equipment to make the visual and listening experience extraordinary. We have been using this home theater for two years and have been very impressed with what Sound Investments has made possible.
