Acoustically Treated Ultimate Dedicated Home Theater Aspen, Colorado

This Dedicated Theater is unique in that it is a completely free standing building built in a basement with 14' ceilings. The rest of the basement is also completely finished but the walls and ceiling of the theater do not touch any other walls or ceilings in the basement therefore it is almost completely soundproof. As testament, the baby sleeps quietly in the room above while a movie is being watched.

This sound system is an example of Sound Investments ability to create full theater sound in an unconventional location. As you can see in the picture, there are no symmetrical shelves to place left center or right speakers. Furthermore, placing conventional speakers on these shelves would sound horrible. The solution was to create an all in one left center right speaker bar, place it on the top shelf, design a custom front baffle angle to direct the sound at the listener, use large high quality speaker components and finally build the speaker the exact length of the shelf for anesthetics.

A Dedicated Home Theater which was completely sound proof to the rest of the house . It incorporates a custom engineered 7.1 speaker system designed and built by Sound Investments using some of the finest audiophile grade components available.

Family Room Home Theater, Greeley,Colorado

This theater was created in a typical basement family room. A custom designed speaker system was used with left and right speakers matching the height of the screen for better asthetics and center channel with slanted baffle to play more directly to listeners .It uses a 5.1 system with rear speakers being true surround style in ceiling speakers.

Dedicated Home Theater

This project was done from the ground up. Sound Investments was involved in the original design of the house. The stadium seating in the theater was actually poured into the foundation. Stepping into the theater from the ground level of the house, you immediately get a feeling of spaciousness when the screen wall opens up to about 15' tall. The theater has a custom built 7.1 speaker system engineered specifically for the room size. Studio quality acoustical room treatments are hidden in the walls and the back of the room incorporates a small bar for refreshments.

Home Theater System

This project was an upgrade to an existing system. A large floor standing TV sat in an opening, and commercially purchased speakers sat in wooden inwall boxes behind black cloth grills left and right. The problem was that placing the speakers in the boxes was the equivalent of sticking your head in a cabinet and talking. To make matters worse, the speakers were a ported design that allowed all the bass to pump out into the back of the box. The speakers were reasonably good, just in a bad location.
